This project expanded the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) apron in conjunction with the passenger terminal expansion. Austin Bridge & Road’s scope included more than 80,000 square yards of: 6” P-154 sub-base, 8” P-304 cement-treated base, and 16.5”P-501 PCC concrete pavement, as well as associated P-604 and P-605 joint sealing. ABR mobilized a concrete batch plant on site, in between ABIA’s two main runways, and managed the concrete haul routes through secured areas, including across active taxiways and aprons.
